Fes Activities
Hammam in Fes: rest after the medina with a traditional steam bath, black soap and scrub, followed by a relaxing massage, booked privately for you.
Overview
After a day on the cobbles of Fes, nothing restores you like a hammam. The ritual has barely changed since the Middle Ages: warm rooms of rising steam, olive-based black soap to soften the skin, then a vigorous scrub with a kessa glove that removes more than you would believe.
In a private spa you take it at your own rhythm, alone or as a couple, and follow it with a ghassoul clay wrap and a massage with argan oil. You finish in a quiet lounge with mint tea, wrapped in a robe, wondering why you do not do this every week.

Welcome
You are welcomed with tea and given a robe, slippers and a locker.
Choose between a traditional neighbourhood-style hammam and a private spa in a riad. Tell us which you prefer.
Hammam
You warm up in the steam room while the black soap softens your skin.
The hammam has been part of weekly life in Fes for centuries. Heat levels vary between rooms, so you can move if it becomes too strong.
Scrub
A therapist gives you a thorough scrub, then a clay wrap and a warm rinse.
The scrub is vigorous but not painful; ask your therapist to go more gently if you wish.
Massage
A relaxing massage and quiet time in the rest room complete the visit.
Allow two to three hours. This is an ideal way to end a day of walking in the medina.
This is a private experience, so times and stops can be adjusted to your arrival, your pace and the season.

Why choose this experience
Every quarter of old Fes was built with five things: a mosque, a school, a fountain, a bakery and a hammam. It is part of how the city lives.
